Workplace Needs Assessments from iDiversity

At iDiversity, we believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive in their job role. Our workplace needs assessments give employees and employers a clear, practical route to help employees achieve their full potential.

A workplace needs assessment is a one-to-one meeting with a specialist assessor, designed to work out what support someone needs to do their job well. It looks at the person, their role and their working environment so that the recommendations which follow are the right fit for the individual.

Our experienced assessors meet with each employee for a two hour needs assessment, followed by a comprehensive written report with specific, achievable recommendations to support them in the workplace. We look closely at the working environment, technology, working practices and any adjustments already in place. Our recommendations range from simple changes to working practices through to specialist assistive technology.

Who do we support?

We provide workplace needs assessments for individuals with disabilities (including neurodivergent conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia) and long-term health conditions.

We make recommendations for workplace adjustments and identify any specialised requirements e.g. ergonomic, assistive technology, working practices, etc.

We create a detailed report submitting findings, recommendations, and a quotation for supply of any adaptations, if appropriate.

Development of appropriate workplace strategies will be advised to help overcome difficulties, along with any coaching needs and training.

What we bring to your workplace

We believe workplaces should be inclusive, empowering and shaped around the individual, not the other way round. Our workplace needs assessors bring years of specialist experience across a wide range of disabilities, neurodivergent conditions and long-term health conditions.
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution or tick-box assessments. We take the time to get to know the person in front of us, so that every recommendation we make is one that will be used to make a real difference for the employee and the employer alike.
Here’s what that means in practice:

For employees

  • Feel heard and understood
  • Receive practical, tailored recommendations that reflect how you actually work, not a generic checklist.
  • Gain confidence, reduced stress and the right tools to do their job well.

For employers

  • Meet obligations under the Equality Act 2010 with clear, well-evidenced recommendations.
  • Support retention, wellbeing and productivity by giving employees the tools to succeed.
  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to building an inclusive workplace.

Tailored assessments

Every assessment is tailored to the individual, recognising that each person’s needs are unique. We take time to understand not just the barriers someone faces, but also their strengths and preferences. This means our recommendations are practical and focused on what will genuinely help them succeed in their role.

Bespoke recommendations

Our assessors look at the whole working environment, from physical workspace and technology to communication methods and team dynamics. This thorough approach ensures nothing is overlooked and every suggestion is relevant.

Ongoing support

Our service doesn’t end with the report. We provide continued guidance to ensure recommendations are successfully implemented. Whether it’s helping to set up new technology, advising on how to introduce changes, or reviewing progress after a few months, we’re here to support both the employee and employer throughout the adjustment process.
