What comes to mind when you think of workplace coaching. Have you encountered it before? Are you familiar with the types of coaching available?
Workplace coaching is centred around helping employees succeed in their job role by providing personalised support that boosts both their performance and overall wellbeing.
It can be extremely beneficial for everyone and at iDiversity we specialise in coaching for neurodivergent and disabled individuals, and regularly receive positive feedback on the significant difference coaching makes.
Coaching tailored to a job role, challenges, goals and aspirations whilst being paired with a coach who has a deep understanding of the employees needs, allows individuals to develop essential workplace skills, build resilience and work on the aspects and options that will best enable positive change. As a result employees feel more able to thrive at work and overcome any challenges they may face.
Here’s what one of our clients said about their coaching sessions;
“I am an academic, and my experience with Robin as a job coach has been genuinely transformative. I can now set boundaries, feel more in control of myself, build assertiveness, and recognise people’s patterns and tendencies. Overall, it was an extremely useful experience, and I strongly recommend Robin both as a person and as a coach. He has been instrumental in promoting positive and much-needed changes that would not have occurred otherwise – Marco”
iDiversity Coaching for Positive Impact
Back in 2019 when iDiversity was established we had a vision to help support workplaces to become inclusive, accessible and accommodate a wide range of needs.
With this in mind we created our “Coaching for Positive Impact” service to lead the way in inclusive employment practices, addressing the systemic barriers faced by many disabled and neurodivergent individuals in the workplace.
It’s really important to us that the coaching we provide makes a difference and also promotes individual health and wellbeing.
Our aim is to help individuals achieve their working aspirations, identify their strengths, address their unique challenges and develop personalised strategies for success.
Our clients are assigned one of our highly qualified and experienced coaches, around 80% of whom have lived experience of disability themselves, and bring a deep understanding and empathy to their work.
Our coaches work with clients to address any challenges through a series of sessions carefully designed around a specific job role and factors in challenges they experience at work, due to their neurodiversity or disability. We develop workplace strategies to achieve aims and objectives – from simple changes to time management, to putting in place helpful schedules for a working day.
Our coaching sessions can be one-to-one or group sessions to include a Line Manager and we can also combine it as a package with Awareness Training to complement the sessions.
Employees who are disabled or have a long term health condition, can also apply for the Access to Work grant scheme to help cover the costs of practical support in the workplace, including coaching sessions. We have shared some further information on Access to Work at the bottom of this newsletter.
Accessible coaching and disability confidence
To ensure we’re meeting the needs of our clients we prioritise accessibility in all our coaching sessions to include offering flexible appointment times, provide accessible communication options and ensuring that our coaching materials are accessible to individuals with visual, auditory and cognitive impairments. We also work closely with clients to identify and implement reasonable accommodations in the workplace, such as flexible work schedules, ergonomic equipment and assistive technologies.
We actively promote disability confidence among our clients. We equip them with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to navigate workplace challenges, advocate for their needs, and build a successful career. We empower them to embrace their unique strengths and perspectives, and to challenge societal stereotypes about disability.
Client feedback

I cannot express enough how much iDiversity sessions have changed my life. Their support has had a profound impact on my anxiety, which I have been suffering from for years. It has significantly improved my confidence and overall well-being. The team at iDiversity is incredibly supportive and understanding, always going above and beyond to help. A special mention goes to Sue, who is truly incredible. She has an amazing ability to work within our scheduled sessions, dedicating herself to understanding my needs and identifying the actions necessary for continuous improvement. Her empathy, dedication, and expertise have made a world of difference for me. Thank you, iDiversity and Sue, for making such a positive difference in my life!”
“I had the privilege of working with Victoria through iDiversity at a time in my life when I felt diminished, uncertain, and lacking direction. Victoria was an incredible inspiration who truly helped me to transform my outlook and reclaim my confidence. I cannot recommend Victoria more highly. Her coaching has had a profound and lasting impact on my life, and I will always be grateful for the focus, empowerment, and belief she helped me to rediscover”
“Having an access to work award IDiversity sorted out all my tech needs and software training and gave me the most wonderful coach Victoria who helped me understand my neurodivergent diagnosis to work towards my strengths and strategise areas of struggle not only in work but in my life in general – life changing – can’t thank them all enough”.
These positive outcomes for our clients translate into tangible benefits for employees and employers alike. Increased job satisfaction leads to improved employee engagement and productivity. Reduced stress and anxiety lead to improved mental and physical health, reducing absenteeism and presenteeism. And a more inclusive and supportive work environment fosters a stronger company culture and attracts and retains top talent.
Beyond the individual level, iDiversity ‘s work contributes to a broader societal shift towards greater inclusion and equity. By breaking down barriers to employment and empowering disabled individuals to thrive in the workplace, we are creating a more just and equitable society for all.
